President Obama’s address to Congress was not only distracting, but painful to hear. The media built up his speech to an unnecessary level of godliness, with some media outlets declaring him “Jesus.” The media has also been known to call President Obama “FDR” or “Lincoln.” But, more recently, the day of his address to Congress to be exact, they began to refer to his speech as “Reaganesque,” declaring him the next Reagan. This reminded me of the general political ignorance the media has on a daily basis. If they knew anything about Ronald Reagan, they would understand that Obama and Reagan have nothing in common. Reagan fixed this country by cutting taxes and believing in people, not government. The American people are the life blood of this country, not government.
Obama stated in his address the ways he would “clean up the credit crisis.” How? By charging our futures to his porkulus plan. He then continued to explain the concept of credit to the American people. That’s nice of him, because some of the people who got the nation in this situation are the ones who have credit cards and don’t know how they work. I’m glad someone explained it to them. I hope they were listening!
After President Obama explained the concept of credit, he continued “First, we are creating a new lending fund that represents the largest effort ever to help provide auto loans, college loans, and small-business loans to the consumers and entrepreneurs who keep this economy running.” LOAN LOANS LOANS!! So let me get this straight. The president is going to help provide more loans to people, who he believes, have trouble understanding the credit process. I guess he thought that three minute credit lesson would instantly help everyone understand why they were such bad boys and girls. Now lets play grocery store. Can I have the credit card?
“The only way this century will be another American century is if we confront at last the price of our dependence on oil and the high cost of health care, the schools that aren’t preparing our children and the mountain of debt they stand to inherit. That is our responsibility.” I think President Obama is confused. You see, he obviously believes that we are the government’s responsibility. I don’t know how any of you feel, but I can’t name one thing the government has done correctly. Social Security? Public Education? Tax Reform? I would prefer to be my own responsibility. Not your’s, Obama. He spoke about the mountain of debt “our children stand to inherit.” Does he know how much debt he will put “our children” in thanks to the “porkulus” package? “The budget projects that the national debt will increase from $8.4 trillion in 2009 to $15.4 trillion in 2019. The Administration’s budget contains $1.4 trillion in tax increases – tax hikes that will impact everyone, from small businesses, charities, and seniors to everyone who owns a 401(k) and anyone who flips on a light switch.”
President, quit picking on my unborn children.
The most painful part of the address, however, was having to see the Botox babies, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. Pelosi, in a nauseating, puke green outfit had more trouble paying attention to Obama then my three-year-old cousin. And Biden? Obama praised him for his oversight of the “American recovery and investment act of 2009.” Obama stated, thanks to Botox Biden’s “earmark oversight,” he is “proud that we passed a recovery plan free of earmarks.” The package contains 9,000 earmarks. Try this quote out for size. “You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.” (Abraham Lincoln)
